A Message from the Parade Committee Chairman:
Welcome to the South Amboy St. Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled for March 8, 2014, stepping off @2 PM. This year’s parade is expected to be the BEST YET with 23 bands scheduled. We encourage all groups to sign-up early on our web-site @southamboyparade.com. This web-site will walk you through all the steps, including sign-up, directions to the parade, the parade route and requirements of all groups. Registrations for all marching units must be done ONLINE and will not be handled by phone and or in person.
I would like to take the time to thank the South Amboy Police Department on their efforts every year on keeping us safe. The South Amboy Police Department certainly is the best and the entire parade committee is proud to work with these true professionals. I would also like thank the city administration on their efforts in making this a “city sponsored event” and we could not put this parade on without the great help of the city.
The Parade Committee is always looking for volunteers!! Please feel free to call me at 732-721-5031 if you would like to help with this event. There is much work that needs to be done.
Hats off to this year’s honorees; Grand Marshal Monsignor John Gordon, Deputy Grand Marshal Colonel John O’Connell, and Honorary Grand Marshal Assemblyman Craig Coughlin. Please check on our web site on time and dates we will be honoring these deserving individuals.
Lastly I would like to remind everyone that the South Amboy Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is family friendly and we request that you have no open liquor containers on the street and please no drinking and driving. Let’s make this a great day for everyone.
See you at the parade!!!
Parade Committee Chairman
